Plans for a proposed water tower in the newly annexed area of Angola near I-69 would call for construction of the tower to be completed by late spring or early summer of next year.
The site, which was donated to the city by JKL Holdings, which along with Jim Ingledue Construction Inc., is planning on developing a 53-acre property near the site. The new water tower would ensure adequate water flow to the development and others in the vicinity.
Mayor Richard Hickman said the water tower would open a new area of the city to development. “This is kind of the last piece of the puzzle out there,” Hickman said. “we’re looking forward to great things.”
Ingledue also praised the partnership. “We’re proud to be part of a project that will help open future growth in Angola,” Ingledue said. “This should really help open that area.”
The proposed tower would be 250,000 gallons. Foundation work will begin this month with erection of the tower to begin in November and conclude in February. Painting and final site work, including electrical and fencing work, were to be completed by next June.
Ingledue is responsible for putting in an access road from Shoup Drive (formerly C.R. 300W), as well as placing a water main to the tower.
